Do you have administration skills along with good organisation and communication? If yes, Signature Recruitment is looking for a Research Support Officer to join our client, a Higher Education establishment in London.

This is a full-time role for three months with an immediate start, with the possibility of an extension. This role is office-based with an option for hybrid working after an initial period. There is a requirement to be on campus on Thursdays.

The Research Support Officer will work closely with researchers to manage the grant lifecycle for post-award and will be responsible for the day-to-day administration.

You will be the first point of call for enquiries, give advice and signpost academics, staff, and researchers. The role includes overseeing contracts and preparing grant submissions including budgeting.

You will be required to use large data sets, so having a grasp of numbers and being finance-orientated will be beneficial.


Research Support Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead as the first point of contact for the department supporting all members of the Neuroscience Team
  • Deal confidently and be a problem solver for staff, academic and researcher enquiries.
  • Carry out HR administrative duties including working with contracts.
  • Assist with grant submissions including managing deadlines, dealing with budgeting and preparing funding documents.
  • Confidently work with large data sets

Research Support Officer Key Skills:

  • Exposure to HR, recruitment, and contracts
  • A strong level of organisation and time management
  • Confident with numbers and finance, and dealing with reconciliation statements for grants
  • Strong IT skills confident working with new systems experience of WorkTribe and Business World desirable
