Lead Security Architect

Do you want to play a pivotal role in shaping Flutter's security posture? This multifaceted role goes beyond traditional architectural duties, requiring a hands-on approach, strategic leadership, and line management responsibilities.

As Lead Security Architect, you will guide the team in the design, implementation, and continuous refinement of robust security architectures within our security and IT infrastructure. This includes the development of forward-thinking security architecture strategy, plans and procedures, along with their practical implementation across systems and applications.

Your role will also involve collaborating closely with other technical teams, including AWS, partners, and internal engineering across various functions, for seamless integration of security protocols. As a seasoned expert, you'll influence large-scale migration and transformation projects, driving a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and cloud technologies.

Reporting to the head of security architecture and engineering, your leadership will extend to shaping the security architecture and engineering strategy, mentoring your team, and actively engaging with third-party vendors and the broader security community. Your strategic insight, technical prowess, and ability to forge relationships will cement your place as a key player within the organization. Your passion for innovation, coupled with a customer-centric and collaborative approach, will contribute to transforming business through modern security technologies.

In this leadership role, the Lead Security Architect will not only design and innovate but will also be responsible for ensuring that these designs translate into practical, business-aligned, and sustainable services. Recognizing the need for a smooth transition from development to Business-as-Usual (BAU) operations, the Lead Security Architect (working with the Security Engineering team) will help ensure that all security solutions are robust yet adaptable to the business environment. This includes a focus on scalability, maintainability, and compliance with organizational goals and industry standards.

Your role will be pivotal in turning designs into tangible services that not only meet the immediate security needs but also foster long-term growth and resilience for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Lead and manage the Security Architecture team in the design and implementation of robust security architectures.
  • Strategy Development: Play a pivotal role in the development, direction, and implementation of the organization's security strategy and roadmap, recognizing opportunities for strategic collaboration and hands-on support.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Enhance the organization's security posture through strategic leadership and collaboration with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Line Management: Line manage and mentor the Security Architecture team, ensuring secure design and operation of systems and applications.
  • Security Oversight: Provide expert review and approval of security designs for new systems and applications.
  • Policy Development: Develop, review, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures, with hands-on integration into the development lifecycle.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay at the forefront of security trends, actively engaging with the security community, and adapting security architectures accordingly.
  • Vendor Management: Cultivate and manage relationships internal stakeholders, third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring effective delivery of security-related services.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous enhancement of security processes and controls, including hands-on review and update of security policies and procedures.

Key Skills:

  • Multiple years of proven experience in cybersecurity architecture and design, with hands-on experience in security technologies.
  • Previous management (team/line) experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS or other cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Practical experience with OKTA for secure identity management.
  • Sharing knowledge across the wider security community.
  • Working in an agile environment.
  • Incident, change, problem, and risk management.
  • Bonus points for previous software engineering experience, coding, and automation.
