Asbestos Operative

Flowing Construction Services has an exciting opportunity to join our growing business as an Asbestos Operative.

As an Asbestos Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient removal, management, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials.

You will work closely with our team to adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for all construction activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct asbestos removal projects in accordance with regulatory standards and company procedures.
  • Adhere risk assessments and prepare method statements.
  • Safely handle and dispose of asbestoscontaining materials.
  • Use specialized equipment for the detection and removal of asbestos.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry practices and regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies and health and safety regulations.

About the role:

  • Experience in asbestos removal.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Knowledge of current asbestos regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) properly.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Good overall physical fitness and stamina.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Current training / medical / face fits / mask test.
  • Full driving license (ability to tow DCUs is an advantage)
  • Willing to work overtime and away when required.

We are a construction company (with an asbestos division) based in Washington in the Northeast of England. With over 40 years' experience in the construction industry, Flowing Construction Services is a well-established and highly respected company.

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 8-14 weeks

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Experience:

Asbestos Removal: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
