You will lead a team of skilled Radiographers, collaborate closely with Cardiologists and other staff members, and take on rewarding responsibilities with full support as you progress in your career.

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Act as Superintendent Radiographer for Interventional Radiology (Cardiac)
  • Liaise closely with other Imaging Superintendent Radiographers and provide support for the radiographic service in their absence
  • Be a Clinical Specialist for Interventional Imaging involved in Service developments, training, and ensuring service quality
  • Utilize specialist knowledge in appropriate x-ray department areas such as angiography
  • Provide out-of-hours on-call and shift support working unsupervised in specialist areas
  • Maintain high professional standards to deliver a quality diagnostic radiography service
  • Lead and organize a section of the department daily
  • Follow defined policies and protocols, ensuring compliance and assessing radiographic requests
  • Ensure service quality remains high and provide feedback on service improvement proposals
  • Respect patient care and comfort in the Imaging department
  • Act as Radiation Protection Supervisor for Cardiac

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Hons or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Current HCPC registration

Desirable

  • Leadership and communication training
  • CPD and short courses attended
  • RPS Supervisors Course

Knowledge

Essential

  • Up-to-date breadth of knowledge in radiographic practice

Experience

Essential

  • Significant post-registration practice, with a focus on cardiac
  • Experience and passion for training staff and students
  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge, promoting quality, and governance

Skills and Ability

Essential

  • High-level verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills to support service delivery and guide junior staff
