Ignata Finance are working with a Private Equity backed retail business based in London/Surrey for the recruitment of a Qualified Management Accountant. There are several key areas of responsibility, overseeing effective running of the ledger function, monthly management accounts preparation, monthly reconciliations and general support to other roles within the wider finance team. The role will be a key member of the Finance team who will support the Head of Finance and CFO to achieve ambitious growth aspirations whilst ensuring robust financial control and reporting.The role will require effective communication with cross-functional teams and senior management and the ideal profile will have a keen eye for detail to identify trends, risks and opportunities.

Retail Experience is ESSENTIAL

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Finance Manager and Head of Finance with preparation of monthly management accounts, the monthly reporting pack and supporting analysis – including variance and trend analysis
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet and P&L reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Production and posting of key journals
  • Management of the Fixed Asset Register and ensuring timely postings on acquisition/disposal of assets.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with the year-end statutory audit and corporation tax process.
  • Preparation of monthly VAT analysis and quarterly VAT returns in the UK and Netherlands.
  • Own all accounting and reporting requirements associated with the retail section of the business – including rebate/promotional accruals and marketing spend – to ensure that our retail financials are robust.
About you:
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Demonstrable experience within Retail or FMCG
  • Self starting and driven
  • Comfortable working in an agile and fast paced environment
  • Great Communication skills - written and verbal
Working Pattern:
  • Hybrid (3 days in the Surrey/London office, 2 from home)
  • £55k £65k pa
