Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Operatives process ambulance service vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient.
Main duties include detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities, checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment, restocking all consumables and completing vehicle checks.
Other duties include the preparation of consumables, stock control, re-fueling and moving vehicles across various locations, recording all daily activities and the repatriation of equipment from Hospital Trusts.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) NHS Trust geographically covers nearly 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, from isolated moors and dales to urban areas, coastline and inner cities.
We serve a population of over five million people across Yorkshire and the Humber and strive to ensure that patients receive the right response to their care needs as quickly as possible, wherever they live.
We employ more than 7,100 staff, who together with over 1,300 volunteers, enable us to provide a vital 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, emergency and healthcare service.

The full-time posts are an average 37.5 hour per week contract based on a 24 hour, 7 day a week rota system including Bank Holidays preparing our frontline operational vehicles.
This post offers an opportunity to work outside the usual 9 to 5 daytime routine with various rota days off across the week along with significant financial enhancements for maintaining our provision during the evening and weekends.
Our Ambulance Vehicle Preparation is completed throughout each 24hr period and working durations include 8, 10 & 12 hour shifts.
You will work a scheduled rota which does include a number of relief weeks.
Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays on a pro-rata basis.
You must be reliable and conscientious with a good eye for detail and be able to work individually and as part of a small team.
