Job Title: Band 6 Deputy Sisters at St Peter's Pediatric Emergency Department

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Provide visible and professional leadership in the Pediatric Emergency department
  • Ensure high-quality, research-based nursing care
  • Support and mentor junior team members
  • Facilitate efficient use of allocated resources
  • Ensure smooth patient flow from ED to the ward

Job Responsibilities:

Clinical

  • Undertake high-quality clinical nursing care
  • Develop and maintain clinical skills
  • Demonstrate expertise in clinical specialty
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team
  • Manage challenging clinical situations
  • Ensure effective patient flow and documentation

Managerial

  • Manage patient pathway within Pediatric ED
  • Ensure appropriate patient allocation
  • Promote staff well-being and provide effective leadership

  • Ensure effective communication and address patient concerns
  • Participate in clinical and managerial meetings

Professional

  • Maintain professional knowledge and contribute to the Trust

  • Mentorship preparation or teaching qualification
