As we venture into this opportunity, we are looking for a proactive and seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the project from our Andover location.
Job Description:
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of projects within budget constraints and contractual requirements.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Senior Surveyor will supervise the delivery function, offering guidance to junior team members.
Your duties will include:- Being the main point of contact for the business, liaising with stakeholders, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Directing pricing exercises, cost estimation, and value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs while upholding quality standards.
- Providing input during the design phase, sharing expertise on cost management and feasibility assessments for the infrastructure projects of end clients.
- Handling pre-contract tasks, such as preparing tender documents, bills of quantities, and negotiating contracts.
- Supervising daily project operations, addressing challenges or issues that arise, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Guiding junior team members, facilitating their professional growth within the project and the industry.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the infrastructure or utilities field.
- Strong background in civil engineering, specializing in cost management, contract administration, and project delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills, capable of motivating teams to accomplish project goals.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools like MS Excel, CostX, and AutoCAD.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field; MRICS or equivalent qualification preferred.
