Operating a widespread direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network with 17 depots nationwide, we make over 10,400 daily deliveries of chilled and frozen products, both our own and those of third parties.
Here at Selby site, we have a dedicated team of over 750 colleagues. Established in 1914, we are the leading manufacturer of customer private label cooking sauces and pickles in the UK.
Producing more than 160 million units annually across 600 product lines for renowned customers such as Morrisons, Tesco & Asda.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As an Electrical & Automation support role within the factory engineering team, your main focus will be on OMP activities to minimize unplanned downtime, machinery safety, automation projects, and process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in Capital Investments projects, ensuring technical solutions meet required standards within set timelines and budgets.
- Ensure safety of processes & equipment, promoting a zero-tolerance stance towards unsafe situations. Contribute to the implementation of engineering tools on-site.
- Guarantee compliance of Electrical & Automation installations with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
- Maintain and keep up-to-date crucial Electrical & Automation documentation.
- Provide broad support to production and engineering teams, utilizing analytical tools to enhance plant reliability and efficiency while driving down costs.
- Assist in root-cause analysis and implement effective measures. Mentor maintenance team members to enhance their PLC and electrical skills.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of factory operations by mastering product and process details. Implement identified performance enhancement projects.
Shift Pattern:
5 days over a 7-day cycle (primarily Monday to Friday)
What We're Seeking
To excel in this role, ideally, you should have experience in FMCG manufacturing maintenance and possess a strong service-oriented attitude with proactive initiative and attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Electrical and/or Automation engineering or equivalent
- Proficiency in Electricity, Process Control, Instrumentation, and PLC/HMI programming.
- Knowledge of Rockwell PLC systems is preferred.
- Experience with SCADA Systems, IO servers, HMI, Historians is advantageous.
- Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning, and/or maintenance execution is a plus but not mandatory.
