Advanced Clinical Practitioner

We are looking to recruit qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) with appropriate ED/ Urgent Care experience.

Our innovative and successful ED in a small District General Hospital, which is part of an expanding North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and will aim to further support your clinical development.

In addition to ED, we are introducing ACPs to teams on our medical wards across specialties such as acute medicine, geriatrics, endocrinology and gastroenterology.

Our ambition is for our ACPs to be integral to care delivery at Hinchingbrooke hospital.


The post holder will be practising under supervision as a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) within ED to provide patient-centred high quality care and practice within the full scope of the RCEM ACP curriculum.

The role will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice.

The post holder will (under supervision of a senior clinician) assist in the safe assessment, treatment, referral and discharge of patients.

The Trust recognises that ACPs are crucial to the varied workforce and is committed to make the experience of ACPs positive and developmental.

Towards that 20% of their hours would be protected for their own professional development and for them to contribute to Governance, Audit/ Research, Leadership and developing their portfolio.

Their scope of practice would mirror RCEM curriculum and they would be encouraged to achieve accreditation.
