Exeter College is looking for staff who want a fresh challenge and to begin a new career in education.
At Exeter College, we are passionate about developing our staff - not having previous education experience is not a barrier for us.
You just need an interest in working with young people and adult students, and to be committed to promoting lifelong learning.
You would be studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, alongside working as a Learning Assistant.
You will be contracted to work for 38 weeks of the year, leaving the college holidays to pursue your other interests, or meet other commitments.
If you are looking for a career in education, then this apprenticeship is perfect for you.What skills do you need?:
- We are looking for staff with: patience, a good sense of humour, a caring outlook, a willingness to be proactive, and someone who is a good communicator.
- This role is about unlocking student potential and gently supporting them to go the extra mile.
- You must have a grade C in GCSE Maths and English (or an equivalent qualification).
What we offer:
The support team at Exeter College offers:
- A 4 week induction programme to help you get used to your new role.
- An experienced Learning Assistant to act as your mentor.
- 4 staff development days, with specific training sessions for support staff.
