You can make a difference as the Alternative Learning Team Officer by working with schools, alternative education providers, local authority teams, external partners and families to support arrangements for children that are home educated or who, because of exclusion, illness or other reasons, would not otherwise receive suitable education.


What will you be doing?
Receive and manage referrals for alternative provision including the Hospital Education and Reintegrating Service. Ensure that relevant documentation is obtained from schools, health services and families. Collate, prepare, summarise and disseminate agendas. Attend meetings and panels. Feedback the outcome of referrals to the referrer. Allocate day 6 provision for pupils who have received permanent exclusions. Monitor the progress of pupils who are receiving alternative provision in the local authority.

What we need from you?


We are looking for someone with experience of working with schools and other education providers including alternative providers and home educators who is a strong team player with a collaborative work style.


Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes' walk away.
