About the Teaching Assistant Role

  • You will engage with children and enforce positive behaviour
  • You will Support teaching and Learning within the class
  • Assisting with preparation, planning and marking if required
  • Taking small groups for interventions for example Maths or Phonics
  • Carry out administrative duties, such as preparing the classroom and clearing away after class to ensure effective teaching can take place.
  • Available to work Monday to Friday Term time only hours of pm until at least September 2024.

Requirements of the role

  • Positive approach to working with children and the ability to motivate, inspire and build rapport.
  • You will have loads of initiative, be well organised and proactive.
  • A strong regard for pupil safety and wellbeing.
  • Respect for diversity, as you'll be working with pupils from a range of backgrounds
- communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils, parents, teachers and governors.

  • Reading, writing and numeracy skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning in schools and early childhood or experience working or caring for children or adults with special needs before.
  • The ability to challenge children when they display negative behaviour and become reluctant learners.
  • Be a qualified level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or have other relevant experience ( care, family member support, Youth work etc )
  • RTW in the UK and a fully checkable work history.


Interviews and trials are taking place right now for this exciting opportunity, with a view to commencing the role ASAP.


In addition to that, GSL Education are currently offering £100 for the successful referral of either Teachers or Teaching Assistants.
