Community Nurse - Learning Disabilities - Band 6


An e xciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and highly motivated individual to join community city wide service within the Learning Disabilities Service.


You will be an experienced and flexible individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for multi disciplinary team working.

To work within the framework of a multi-disciplinary team to provide support and guidance to children and adults with learning disabilities and their carers.

To work within the framework of health facilitation (level one and two).

To co-ordinate a clinical service under the supervision of Senior Community Nurses.

BCHC has more than 5000 staff working across Birmingham and the West Midlands in a wide range of community nursing and specialist healthcare roles.

BCHC delivers over 100 clinical services, in people's homes, health centres, clinics and inpatient facilities.

Qualifications/training

Registered Nurse:
Learning Disabilities or Mental Health
Post qualification training

Dealing with complex health needs
Understanding diversity
Level 1 & 2 health facilitation
Understand legislation in relation to people with learning disabilities
Knowledge of Care Programme Approach
personal qualities
Car driver essential with full licence and access to a vehicle
Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role
Flexible working
