About this Post
This is one of two key posts within Uniol responsible for coordinating wellbeing throughout the tenant base.

This Tenancy Support and Wellbeing Coordinator has first line responsibility for tenants in Nottingham & Bradford and any overflow of support required in Leeds, assisting staff in this process and undertaking training to raise awareness and understanding of both wellbeing and mental health issues. _
The post holder takes the organisational lead in Nottingham and Bradford on all tenancy support issues._

The postholders mission is to:
- ensure that students living in Unipol's properties do so in a harmonious and pleasant environment
- maintain a friendly and socially inclusive living experience through the diverse Residents' Assistant teams
- promote that environment and if problems arise within aspects of students' day to day lives related to their occupancy of a property then to address these in an empathetic and timely manner
- help raise awareness across the organisation of mental wellbeing and signpost possible mental health issues effectively to others working within the educational institutions, NHS or the Police
- provide training on mental health issues; recognition of symptoms, effective signposting and first aid techniques and supporting the housing team in matters relating to mental health issues.

This post entails taking first line responsibility within the designated areas of the portfolio for:_
- dealing with Unipol's tenant relationships in respect of wellbeing
- supporting and training staff to improve tenant-related matters
- supporting the housing team in Nottingham and Bradford in matters relating to wellbeing and mental health
- dealing with wellbeing-linked community issues that might occur
- overseeing a number of wellbeing initiatives, particularly induction, welcoming and mental health awareness day.
- supporting and safeguarding special student groups including international students, students with disabilities, students under the age of 18 and family tenants
- maintaining an organisational culture of recognising and productively tackling matters that detract from the student experience
- ensuring the promotion and productive use of mediation in tenant and community relations
- significantly contributing to Unipol's social networking content to ensure appropriate messages are disseminated at relevant times of the year
- maintaining and reviewing publications and Unipol's website's dealing with tenancy relations, including tenants' newsletters


This post is responsible for maintaining, operating and reviewing all systems in respect of tenancy support for the groups indicated above, including, but not limited to: inter-tenant friction, anti-social behaviour, the effects of crime or fire, mental health and serious illness and for servicing Unipol's network of referral agencies in respect of these areas of responsibility within the designated areas of the portfolio.


The Tenancy Support and Wellbeing Coordinator can call on a number of communication and wellbeing resources (including the use of social media and on-site staff) to assist them.

Some additional mental health support is provided by the Codes Complaints Investigator who is fully trained in this area.


In the event of a major incident or emergency taking place at a property, the Tenancy Support and Wellbeing Coordinator will attend the site and assist.

Additional anti-social hours payment will be made in respect of any time taken on fulfilling these duties.


Unipol houses a diverse client group and a good relationship with tenants and between tenants is essential to the operation of our housing management systems.

The post holder will have a core responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships between tenants and, where necessary, their parents or representatives.


This post is based in Nottingham but travel to Leeds/Bradford, approximately twice a month will be necessary.


Because the post involves working with students under the age of 18, a satisfactory DBS check (enhanced disclosure procedure) is required to undertake the duties of the post.
