Job Purpose
To work as a team member in partnership with the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and Autism Practitioners. To lead shifts, providing direction to the team and leading by example.

To act as a key worker to a service user ensuring learning, care and health plans are in place and adhered to by other staff.

To lead on and coordinate contact with your key service user's family and friends.

Specific duties

  • Assist in the delivery of life skills and contribute to and support each individual care plan.
  • Administer medication to service users and accurately maintain records
  • Accompany service users in accessing activities such as cycling, walking, swimming. You will need to be physically able to adequately support.
  • Accurately maintain all daily logs for service users
  • Contribute to report writing, and review and regularly update care and health plans.
  • Maintain good communication with other team members
  • Carry out domestic duties, and assist service users with home chores
  • Cook meals with and for service users
  • Assist service users with personal care consistent with their care plans
  • Maintain good records of Service User expenditure. Records must be kept and always monitored with evidence of receipts for each and every transaction.
  • Attend and contribute to house meetings and service user reviews
  • Support service users in attending and contributing to house meetings and reviews
  • Welcome the service user's family and friends, and encourage their support in care and earning planning and programmes
  • Act within the parameters of FRL Confidentiality Policy and Data Protection Act 1998 both at work and in your time outside work
  • Work to the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety, and all Fairmont policy and procedures at all times
  • Implement and respond to our Safeguarding policy and guidance at all times
  • Ensure that health, hygiene and safety regulations are followed at all times
  • Attend all training deemed appropriate for your role / task
  • Avail of regular supervision with your manager
  • Lead the shift, in the absence of a more senior member of staff, assuming full responsibility for matters arising during the shift
  • Follow up and ensure other staff follow up PBS plans and service users' specific guidance

Senior aspects of the role

  • Keyworking individuals, ensuring all monthly paperwork and folders are relevant to the individual's current needs and evaluated.
  • Conducting Supervisions and Appraisals for Autism Practitioners
  • Running of shifts, allocating staff, effectively finding cover if sickness arises, ensuring staffing levels are in line with Service User support required.
  • Ensuring all daily jobs within the home are complete.
  • Authorising and amending rotas for shift swaps as and when required and informing management of the change.
  • Active involvement in Service User meetings.
  • Ensuring any concerns received are effectively communicated to management
  • Effectively managing the staff team on the day to day running of the home
  • Money management on behalf of the Service Users
  • Safe administration of medication, ordering of medication, booking medication in, medication audits.
  • Assume responsibility for medication change overs.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the Duty of Candour is maintained at all times.

£22,713.60 per year
