Sales Advisor Position at Manufacturing Company

My client is looking for a Sales Advisor who is proactive and customer-focused to join their team. The ideal candidate should have experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting and possess a wide-ranging product knowledge. The role involves handling customer sales inquiries, managing stock control systems, and maximizing sales opportunities.

Benefits:

  • Annual bonus – currently 6% of the salary (non-guaranteed), paid in two installments (June and December).
  • Work hours – 38.25 hours per week, from 8:30 am to 5:15 pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Fridays (includes a 45-minute lunch break).
  • 31 days holiday per year, increasing to 33 after two years (including Bank Holidays).

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer sales inquiries through various channels like telephone, email, fax, or quotation promptly.
  • Utilize the internal stock control system to provide pricing quotes and delivery times for available items.
  • Offer accurate and current product and parts information to customers.
  • Take sales orders and collaborate with internal departments such as Procurement, Sales Order Processing, Production Control, and Assembly as needed.
  • Obtain pricing and delivery details from external suppliers/manufacturers for both franchised and non-franchised products.
  • Assist field-based sales representatives and enhance sales for related component accessories.
  • Follow up on quotations and negotiate prices according to company procedures.
  • Assist with Sales Order Processing during holiday/sickness periods when necessary.
  • Perform other duties to ensure the efficient operation of the Department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using stock control software/systems.
  • Exceptional telephone etiquette and strong communication skills.
  • Good numerical abilities for precise pricing calculations.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical components is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skills and deliver top-notch customer service.
  • Capacity to work well under pressure, pay attention to detail, and be flexible.
  • Capability to work independently and take initiative.
