The role


We are looking for a Trainee Butcher to work within our Meat Factory reporting to the Butchery Supervisor for all duties and activities.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • To learn all Butchery skills and procedures to a standard as defined in the Company's Quality Manual to enable you to carry out the preparation, packaging, weighing and labelling of meat products as detailed by customer orders or as given by the Butchery Supervisor, handling in an efficient and hygienic manner to quality standards as defined by the company.
  • Preparation and packaging of meat products to customer and company specifications.
  • Weighing and labelling meat products using the electronic scales to customer and company specifications.
  • Preparation of customer orders as instructed on order tickets.
  • Make up any surplus stock as instructed by the Butchery Supervisor.
  • To use any machinery that is necessary in the course of your work including Vacuum Fillers, Bandsaws, Dicers, etc (after adequate training) ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
  • To follow a 'clean as you go' policy as defined in the company cleaning schedule.
  • To ensure personal standards and performance are maintained in accordance with company policies, codes of practice and predetermined targets.
  • To ensure company policies on Health and Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Due Diligence are met during all duties and activities.
  • To carry out any other duties as reasonably required.

Hours & salary
From £10.90 for 18 year old +

40 hours per week, 6.00am to 4.45pm Monday to Friday.
