Danaher & Walsh is a well-established civil engineering company operating in the Midlands and East of England, currently expanding its operations.

To oversee the management of the office building and its maintenance, along with reception duties, and handle specific tasks as outlined below while also identifying, coordinating, and scheduling training sessions.

The Role:

  • Ensure the office maintains a professional appearance consistently, keep printers and plotter stocked and operational, and fulfill other relevant requests
  • Check contractors' work quality, report any encountered issues
  • Identify and arrange for timely repairs when needed
  • Coordinate catering needs for meetings and events, manage meeting rooms and hot desk reservations
  • Manage travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Perform reception tasks such as answering calls, handling post, receiving deliveries, and welcoming visitors. Outgoing mail should also be taken to the post office
  • Handle reception administrative tasks like signing-in sheets, printing documents, assisting other teams with additional administrative tasks, scanning, and filing
  • Conduct Health & Safety checks as instructed by the SHEQ team
  • Coordinate with staff to facilitate access to the yard and various sites upon request

Training:

  • Identify training needs, coordinate with providers and line managers to schedule sessions
  • Ensure necessary training materials and instructions are given to attendees, send reminders as the training date nears
  • Handle training administration like maintaining training spreadsheets, requesting Purchase Orders, applying for certificates, updating training calendars, filing, and recording employee training statuses
  • Manage training finances including grant applications, assisting with budget compilation
  • Collect feedback from training participants to ensure high training standards
  • Monitor NVQ progress, complete training request forms for non-standard courses
  • Manage apprentices and associated administrative tasks
  • Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience in administration and reception roles
  • Background in the Civil Engineering Industry would be beneficial, training available for suitable candidates.

Candidates with experience in roles such as Office Worker, Manager, Administrator, Admin Manager, Administrative Manager, Administrative Assistant, Business Administrator, Office Coordinator, Office Assistant, Administrator Manager, Senior Manager, Bookkeeper, Accounts Admin, Accounts Assistant will also be considered.
