Senior Compliance Engineer (Functional Safety) - EV - England - £50k to £70k

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Compliance Engineer with a strong background in functional safety to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest safety standards and regulatory requirements.

This position requires a deep understanding of safety principles, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Role:
Senior Compliance Engineer (Functional Safety)

Salary:
Up to £60,000 (depending on experience)

Job Type:
Full Time, Permanent

Lead and manage functional safety activities across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards (e.g., Develop and maintain safety plans, hazard analysis, risk assessments, and safety cases.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, development, testing, and quality assurance, to integrate safety requirements into product development processes.

Conduct safety audits, assessments, and reviews to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Provide expert guidance and training on functional safety standards and practices to internal teams.
Interface with regulatory bodies and certification agencies to achieve necessary approvals and certifications.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in functional safety methodologies.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Commercial experience in a functional safety role.
In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar).
Proven track record of leading safety activities and achieving compliance in complex projects.
Certification in functional safety is highly desirable.
