Toolmaker

Teconnex Ltd is a global private business with head office based in Keighley, West Yorkshire. We have sites in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Our growing Tooling and Automation department requires Toolmakers to provide a tooling service from manufacturing small to medium press tools to meet design drawings and specifications.

These include from single stage Blank, Forming, Piercing tools to full Progression tooling.

The role of Toolmaker;

• Manufacture and assemble new press tools of high standards, to meet the scheduled delivery dates.
• Manufacture new press tool components to technical drawings, to meet the scheduled delivery dates.
• Develop and introduce new ideas on and work with designers to improve the time of "Tool Manufacturing Lead Times and Tool Servicing Times".
• Focus on improving machining time methods of tooling parts to help speed up the process of tool manufacturing.
• Manufacture tooling spares to minimize tool down time during servicing.
• Report any tool design changes direct to the tool designers to ensure tool drawings are kept up to date for future reference.
• Participate in Tool Design Reviews, and actively seek to improve the tool design and performance from single stage tooling to progression tools.
• Ensure adherence to all current quality standards and procedures.
• Establish good personal working relationships with departmental associates and other Company personnel.

Your background and skills;

• Apprentice trained toolmaker with experience of manufacturing metal forming press tools and be able to understand and work with engineering drawings. Or degree within Mechanical engineers but time served as a Toolmaker, engineering toolroom.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

Hours of work; Mon to Thurs 7.30am to 4.30pm - Friday 12 noon finish
