Colchester United Community Foundation (CUCF) is the official charity partner of Colchester United FC. They offer top-notch programs and experiences to around 9,000 children, young people, and adults weekly throughout the community.
CUCF is on the lookout for an individual (must be 18 or older) to embody Colchester United as their Club Mascot Eddie the Eagle for the 2024/25 season. Eddie the Eagle plays a vital role as a symbol of Colchester United, its supporters, and the community. They are searching for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and professional individual to join their matchday and community squads.
Job Purpose: Be available to engage with fans and participate in community activities during Colchester United matchdays, club events, and community gatherings (Open Day/Stadium Day, alongside other community and charity events) for the 2024/25 season to enhance people's interactions with the club and CUCF.
Who Will I Be Reporting To?
Head of Community, General Manager, Head of Safeguarding
Responsibilities:
- Represent Colchester United
- Work closely with the Club, Community Foundation, and First Team players
- Receive CPD & Training related to matchday roles and activities
Safeguarding:
- Colchester United Community Foundation and Colchester United are dedicated to safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. Therefore, all staff and volunteers must fully support this commitment.
- Pre-Employment checks will include a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check due to working with vulnerable groups.
- Must adhere to EFL Club Mascots guidelines and code of conduct (Training provided)
