Job Title: Independent Reviewing Officer at Havering Council

Our client, Havering Council, is seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join their team. IROs play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people in care receive the support and services they need. Here's what the role entails:

  • Organizing and facilitating review meetings
  • Ensuring the participation of all relevant individuals
  • Chairing meetings or supporting the child/young person to lead their own meeting
  • Advocating for the views and wishes of children and young people
  • Explaining any necessary changes in the Care Plan to the child/young person
  • Acting as a positive 'corporate parent' for children and young people in care

To qualify for this position, you need the following:

  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent
  • Continual professional development
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Participation in a competitive referral scheme
  • Completion of registration with Remedy for all locum positions
