Arts & Design Events & Marketing Officer Job description:

The Directorate of External Relations aims to enhance the reputation of the University through effective engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, external and internal, and thus support income generation. It includes student recruitment and admissions, marketing, corporate communications, internal communications, alumni and development, web services, creative services and events and public engagement.

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as an Art & Design Events & Marketing Officer within our Marketing team to ensure that an annual programme of events is planned, marketed, and delivered to the highest standard for Scotland's number one School of Art & Design. This is a permanent appointment.

The events include the Undergraduate Degree Show, Masters' Degree Show, Open Days, applicant visit days, art and design UCAS fairs, conferences, exhibitions, and other high profile School events and projects. This role offers a rewarding, challenging opportunity for a motivated and progressive individual with the capacity for innovative and creative problem-solving who has a successful track record of strong experience in events management and marketing, ideally within the creative and cultural sector or Art and Design Higher Education sector. These events are an opportunity to exhibit, promote and maximise impact of the internationally renowned work of both staff and students in DJCAD and the University.

The post holder will play a key role in all aspects of managing the events from the initial stages of planning through to delivery and beyond. A key objective of this post is to maximise the benefit of these high-profile events with regards to student recruitment and to promote and enhance the national and international profile of the School and the University of Dundee.

The role post will require some evening and weekend work to deliver specific events and the post-holder may be required to travel for work, usually to regional and to events national locations.

Your priorities will include:

  • Managing and delivering the School's
  • Maximise the benefit of the School's events to in relation to student recruitment and to promote and enhance the profile of the School.

Who we're looking for:

  • Degree level qualification in Marketing, Events Management, Communications, Design, or other literate-related subject (s)
  • Experience of event planning and management, and of working with large diverse teams to deliver complex, high- profile, large scale events
  • Experience in creating and implementing marketing plans
  • Experience in development and implementation of events management and associated marketing, ideally within the creative and cultural sector Art & Design sector
