Job summary

The Audiology service deals with the assessment and management of hearing, tinnitus and balance in schools, primary and community locations and hospital settings.

The service is looking for someone compassionate about providing a quality service to patients to lead the hearing aid repairs and maintenance clinic in Neath Port Talbot hospital.

This role will principally be involved in hearing aid repairs or replacement and supporting patients with the maintenance of their hearing aids. The role holders will assist the senior audiology team with various clinical and administrative activities as described in the job description.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work in cooperation with the Head of Audiology Services in Swansea Bay and the clinical team within the Audiology department in Neath Port Talbot Hospital . Other activities may include auditing activity, administrative duties and communicating with patients and other professionals by telephone, email, text and in person.

There may be an opportunity to assist in paediatric clinics or take part in hearing screening in schools.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent communication and is looking for a new challenge or experience.

Training will be provided.

Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with meticulous attention to detail. Minimum qualifications of GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent. Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment is desirable.
