Law's Transport Ltd. is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator. Law's is a family run haulage business that has successfully operated articulated vehicles since 1989.

In recent years, the business has expanded rapidly and currently has a fleet of approximately 40 vehicles and trailers working on multiple contracts across various industries throughout the U.K.

The working hours for this role are 8am-6pm, Mon-Fri at our Sleaford office.

The role of Logistics Coordinator is a managerial position

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning loads for up to 40 vehicles on a daily basis
  • Communicating with drivers
  • Tendering contracts with customers
  • Agreeing rates with customers
  • Communicating with customers' senior management
  • Being on call throughout the week (allocated on a rota basis with other members of the management team)
  • Solving problems when difficulties arise (i.e. breakdowns, loads getting rejected/running late)
  • Liaising with other members of the management throughout each day
  • Previous experience in a managerial position
  • A proactive mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with drivers and a willingness to assert authority when appropriate
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Good geographic knowledge of the U.K.
  • Ability to work with numbers
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to build a good rapport with customers and employees
  • The ability to work efficiently in high pressure situations and to meet deadlines throughout the week
  • Excellent at working in a team
  • A willingness to be flexible with hours when problems occur
Experience within the transport sector would be ideal but is not essential for the role.

Salary:
£40,000.00 per year
