What will you be doing in this role?

As the Group Workplace Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing both hard and soft facilities maintenance across the UK, ensuring building and facilities compliance, managing services like concierge, post room, and an onsite canteen.

Day to day, your tasks will involve:

  • Exercising independent judgment and discretion to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues, while collaborating with the team to manage daily office operations.
  • Developing, proposing, and implementing cost-saving initiatives, seeking approval for recommendations, and striving for cost-effective solutions and returns on investment for future planning.
  • Implementing strategies to cultivate an inclusive environment where all employees feel encouraged to contribute their best, leveraging diversity and inclusion to develop and implement employee programs and services.
  • Inspiring and motivating the team to achieve high standards.
  • Ensuring that workspaces are efficiently optimized and reflect a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.
  • Leading the implementation of the Workplace Strategy with full control over the budget.
  • Maintaining all occupied premises in compliance with current regulations and best practices.
  • Overseeing the Security Management System and personnel.
  • Managing Catering, Cleaning, and other support functions including waste management.
  • Negotiating lease terms and ensuring compliance.
  • Securing appropriate insurance coverage for Group activities.
  • Building positive relationships with internal stakeholders to align facilities services with their needs.
  • Cultivating relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts for facility-related goods and services, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

As a Workplace expert, you should have a background in managing a diverse portfolio of spaces, including retail, office, and warehouse, to create conducive environments where employees can thrive.

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Relevant professional, technical, or managerial qualifications and experience in facilities management.
  • Strong planning and project management capabilities.
  • Experience in space management and programming.
  • Familiarity with supplier relations and contractual terms.
  • Solid knowledge of office move management and dilapidation works.
  • Strong people management, leadership skills, and networking abilities.
  • An analytical approach to problem-solving and a drive to find solutions.
  • Proactivity, self-motivation, and forward-thinking, with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders at a senior level, taking on responsibilities, and presenting outcomes effectively.
  • Ability to think creatively and identify optimal solutions.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are essential.
