Contracted hrs per week over three long daysincluding weekend and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.

The nurse led department seeing, treating and dischargingapproximately 11, 00 patients per year presenting with a wide variety of minorinjuries. Unit is open 9am-9pm daily, Xray facilities 9-5pm Mon-Friday.

Job responsibilities

Show clinical leadership, quality improvement and monitorand deliver the highest standard of patient are within the countywide MIUs. Behave consistently with the values and beliefs of theorganisation and promote these on a day-to-day basis. Act as a role model to colleagues, always seeking tomaintain the highest standards of professionalism. Use their initiative and take responsibility for themselvesand the quality of their work and the service they provide to patients. Provide a holistic, autonomous and clinical nursing serviceby attending to all referrals and self-referrals to the Minor Injury Unit(MIU). Making an assessment of their physical, psychological and social needs,implementing all agreed management plan with patients including appropriateinvestigations, prescribing and referral, within PGDs or professional scope ofa non-medical prescriber. Be an experienced clinician and as an ENP be responsible forproviding expert knowledge and skills to more junior members of the team. Act as advocate andservice representative, both locally and at county level, for the Minor InjuryUnit and liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to co- ordinateall aspects of patient care in the best interests of the patient. Support the effectivetriaging of patients attending MIU on a daily basis; either in person or bytelephone/virtual triage if required To provide expert advice to ensure that clinical practiceand patient care is delivered to the highest standards. To work as an autonomous, independent practitioneraccountable for assessing, diagnosing, advising, treating, and dischargingpatients providing high quality specialist care. Demonstratean analytical approach to clinical assessment of patients in the light ofcurrent research and resources. Work as anEmergency Nurse Practitioner within the MIU guidelines as agreed by the Trust. To provide clinical and operational cover as needed. To ensure the fundamentals of care are delivered effectivelywithin MIU and that competence in clinical practice is both developed andmaintained ensuring high quality patient experience and service. To contribute to and lead on specific projects as requested. To act as a role model by being a highly visible,accessible, fair and effective leader whom staff, patients, families and carerscan rely on. To continually review the focus of activities to ensurealignment to core business, strategic aims and improved service deliveryoutcomes. To deputisefor the Team Lead in their absence
