Best Apprenticeship Programme in the prestigious Investors In People Awards).
Join us as a Graduate Apprenticeship Coordinator - and help us maximise the impact of a unique training model that has achieved a 100% success rate for Completer Apprentices moving into full-time employment, providing people with a wide variety of experiences on their journey towards qualifying with a highly valuable apprenticeship.
Closing the skills gap and creating rewarding local jobs
This is a fascinating and highly rewarding role for someone who shares our ethos of creating "Good Jobs Closer To Home" - helping meet the skill challenges of a construction and engineering industry that continues to be one of the biggest employers in Wales and the UK.
Learning our business from the ground up, you'll be part of a small team that's passionate about helping people transition into skilled employment with major employers in the construction and civil engineering industries - in a role where you'll be trained to provide one-to-one support sessions, mentoring, coaching and progress reviews with apprentices - helping connect people with their true potential, creating sustainable employment that builds inclusive prosperity for the communities of Southeast Wales.
You'll become expert at what you do - in an operation that holds a Platinum-level accreditation for quality systems - and you'll also become an ambassador for our Y Prentis: building important and influential relationships with partners, clients, contractors and the FE colleges in our region, all of whom are vital to the future shape and scope of our apprenticeship programmes and business plans.
Developing your own skills and unleashing your own potential
The Y Prentis philosophy puts 'people', their wellbeing and their development at the heart of everything - and this is a role where you'll be able to develop your own skills and realise your full potential, with every opportunity to progress to future management roles.
Join us and you can look forward to an extensive induction, being mentored by members of your team, shadowing each member to gain a wide and deep experience in all aspects of the business.
In addition, you can also look forward to both external and in-house training (including eLearning), in a hybrid working environment where you'll spend at least one day per week at the Pontypool office.
Become part of the Y Prentis family and you'll also enjoy the following benefits:- A salary of £20,000
- £22,000 (depending on experience)
- Career progression.
- Hybrid working and flexitime.
- Small friendly team environment.
- Good holidays
What you'll need right now:
You're adaptable and a rational thinker with strong communication skills - and the resolve to advocate for the positive impacts that apprenticeships create.
If you have an understanding of both the construction sector and apprenticeship training (perhaps gained through a built environment or related degree as a Construction Graduate), so much the better, but that isn't essential.
