We are currently searching for an experienced Buyer with a background in a manufacturing/aerospace environment. The buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services necessary for the organisation.

This includes negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels and ensuring that purchased items meet the quality and delivery standards of the company.


About Us


Brookhouse Aerospace produces a range of composite structures, producing monolithic and sandwich parts from a range of materials, including carbon fibre composite, glass and Aramid cured by autoclave.

Brookhouse Aerospace also manufactures sheet metal fabrications and machined metal parts, fully supply kits and integrated assemblies. Specialist capabilities include a full range of surface treatments and dedicated Spares and Repairs capability.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Direct, hands on management of the top 10 suppliers & implementation of purchasing strategy plan.
  • Interpret business requirements from MRP based reports, obtain competitive quotations from suppliers where possible and place orders for the required quantities at the required dates.
  • Ensure MRP is kept up to date with all relevant information, bookings, lead times, cost codes, due dates etc
  • Supplier order book management and scheduling
  • Ensure that the supply chain is delivering value for money and that, where appropriate cost reduction initiatives and developed and implemented
  • Prepare reports, KPI's and information as required
  • Participate in internal and external meetings and supplier visits.
  • Develop a high quality, cost efficient supplier base with the flexibility to meet changing requirements.
  • Ensure stock levels are reduced where possible or maintained in line with business strategy and agreed targets.
  • Maintain awareness of military and blueprint specifications and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience as a buyer in a manufacturing/aerospace background
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Computer literate and able to use MRP/ERP system (Epicor, SAP, Sage)
  • Analytical thinker who is systems oriented
  • Self Motivated and proactive

When you are working:

  • 4day week Monday to Thursday 07:15am to 17:00pm totalling 37 hours weekly
