Thousands of children are missing out on crucial hours of schooling due to persistent absenteeism. Regular school attendance is vital for learning, as well as for a child's well-being, mental health, and long-term development.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people who need it the most. In this role, you will provide bespoke, targeted, and responsive support for pupils with persistent and severe absenteeism in our client schools.

We collaborate with over 6,000 schools across England and Wales and are seeking multiple candidates in our branch locations for both full-time and part-time opportunities.

Your Experience:

  • Experience in education, social care, community/youth work, military, or other sectors with relevant skills and knowledge.

Knowledge of:

  • The UK educational system.
  • Pastoral care practices.
  • Strategies for working with parents or carers.
  • Methods to empower and enable pupils and parents/carers to support themselves.

Having access to transport is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, engage, and mentor pupils who are severely or persistently absent from school.
  • Manage a caseload of pupils, providing mentoring support and building their confidence in learning.
  • Encourage and motivate pupils to return to the classroom and consistently improve their attendance.
  • Collaborate with children's services, health agencies, and other community-based services to offer the most effective support for children, young people, and families.
  • Assist the school with additional tasks as needed, such as lunchtime supervision.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
