We are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a reputable SEN school in Rochester.

The institution caters to students with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) aged between 5 and 18. The committed team of educators and support staff collaborate to empower students to reach their full potential and embrace their unique learning styles.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, adjusting teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
  • Assisting the Class Teacher in developing and executing personalized learning plans.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Monitoring and documenting students' progress and contributing to progress evaluations.
  • Engaging in training and professional growth opportunities.
  • Providing emotional support to students alongside their academic studies.

Experience and Requirements:


  • Experience with children or young individuals with SEN (preferred but not required)
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Basic understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
  • A dedication to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
  • Personal exposure to SEN
  • Degrees in Psychology, Criminology, and Social Sciences (optional)

The pay rates mentioned will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advertisement is for a temporary role. There may be a possibility for the role to transition to a permanent position in the future.
