Are you a great communicator and good with people? Are you an innovative, solutions-focussed thinker? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Rehoming Coordinator to join the small but friendly team at Stockport to help find our cats their forever homes.

At our Stockport Centre we rehabilitate and rehome cats and kittens.

Some of the cats and kittens who come into our care have complex needs and require a little extra care and understanding before they are ready to begin looking for their new home.


This position offers lots of variety, some of which includes providing a safe space for the cats in the centre, tending to their needs, working with adopters, conducting checks and selecting the most suitable home for each cat depending on their individual needs plus administration.


The team all work together to keep the centre running smoothly for up to 10 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Working hours: 21 per week (3 days) on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends

Site worker: You will be based at our adoption centre in Pets at Home, Stockport.

What a day might look like for you


Here at the RSPCA no two days are the same We've added a short summary of what a typical day might look like, for a full insight please refer to the attached job description.


  • Providing care for the animals housed in the RSPCA rehoming unit;
  • Engaging with the public by answering phone calls and inperson queries;
  • Promote RSPCA animals available for adoption both instore and on social media;
  • Coordinate and manage fostering networks;
  • Facilitating animal veterinary care, including transport to and from the veterinary hospital.

What makes a great Rehoming Coordinator?

  • Previous experience with working with domestic animals whilst volunteering, studying or working;
  • Compassion, with a positive cando outlook with excellent communication skills;
  • A full and valid manual UK driving licence;
  • Computer literacy and basic admin skills;
  • Confidence in managing social media platforms;
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts including some evenings and weekends.

Pay:
£21,840.00 per year

Expected hours: 21 per week
