As a Technical Security Engineer for Cadent, you will manage the contract of a 24/7 control room. You will deliver and take ownership of a specialist service an use your expertise to to help direct strategy, based on detailed analysis. whilst being responsible for the security relationships with the wider energy sector, government department agencies and the police to position Cadent as a Centre of excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the design, management, and upgrade of Microsoft Active Directory
  • Responsible for the design, management, and upgrade of Active Directory Domain Controllers across multiple locations.
  • Administration, maintenance and development of Windows Server Roles and Features.
  • Accountable for patch management and enforcing security policies across server and VMWare infrastructure.
  • VMWare and server hardware management, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Responsible for ongoing improvements to the design and documents of an Active Directory Domain and services across Multiple Locations.
  • Administration, maintenance and development of Windows Server Roles and Features . Providing support on the Integrated Physical Security solution AD and domain servers and services.
  • Responsible for supporting the Active Directory Domain within an ever-growing IT Infrastructure
  • Responsible for providing Active Directory User Accounts required for security applications local to each site.
Skills and Experience
  • Degree (or equivalent) in computer or technical engineering or relevant experience.
  • Key security principles and knowledge through a proven track record
  • MSCA or MCSE Certification
  • Experience working on on-prem server infrastructure.
  • ITIL Foundation (minimum).
  • Experience of supporting mission critical systems, with good knowledge of system technologies, CCTV, Access control systems, monitoring tools, processes, and incident handling in a 24x7x365 support environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications. Communicates with internal teams at all organisational levels and third-party providers.
  • Good stakeholder management and influencing skills with colleagues, partners / vendors & project sponsors, willingness to learn and develop.
  • Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and the ability to offer guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills - evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve; creates actionable operational plans and involves others as needed
  • Motivated to learn Cadent's business and understand how hardware, software and systems are critical to business processes.
  • Experience working with managed services providers.
  • Knowledge of operational plant and equipment within gas AGI's/compressor sites and electricity sub-stations
  • Sound understanding of the operational performance of the integrated security solutions (e.g. CCTV systems, Access Control systems, Alarm Management systems)
  • Must be able and willing to hold a government security clearance to 'Security Cleared' level to support interaction with government departments, agencies and the police.
