Summary
This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to start a career in finance.

In this role, you will be supporting the finance team across multiple functions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking, and intercompany banking whilst supporting month-end tasks and reporting.

This role will provide a great foundation offering practical experience alongside gaining theoretical learnings allowing critical development early in their career.

By the end of the Apprenticeship, you will achieve an AAT Level-4 qualification.

The apprenticeship is 2 years in duration, and the normal working pattern will be Monday to Friday with dedicated time assigned for required training.


  • Assisting the management accountants and being part of the team that has to deliver the month's results on a timely basis.
  • Resolving invoice queries from creditors
  • Inputting and posting journal entries and assisting with preparation of month end journals.
  • Reviewing and assisting the intercompany payment process.
  • Assisting with queries from the external and internal auditors and assisting and review of statutory accounts.
  • Raising sales invoices, sending out customer statements and making payments.
  • Regular use of business software.
  • Assisting with daily banking entries & reconciliation.
  • Assisting with Office of National Statistics updates
  • VAT Support
  • Any other duties as and when required.

To succeed in this role, we believe you'll need:

  • Good IT skills in particular using MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with teams.
  • To be resultsorientated, and have good attention to detail
  • To be a strong team player, selfmotivated with a cando attitude
  • To have an understand of the need for diplomacy and confidentiality.

Though not expected, it would be very beneficial if you have:

  • Experience of using Microsoft Navigation Dynamics ERP system
  • Preferably hold a full driving license
