The role

Pause works to improve the lives of women who have had - or are at risk of having - more than one child removed from their care, and the services and systems that affect them.

The program gives women the chance to pause and take control over their lives, breaking a destructive cycle that causes both them and their children deep trauma.

Pause Practices work directly with women, so that no woman should ever have to experience the removal of a child more than once.

We offer an intensive, supportive 18-month programme that involves a trusting relationship between a woman and their Pause Practitioner.

As a Pause Practitioner, you will be responsible for implementing a range of creative interventions and support measures as part of an integrated package of health, therapeutic and social support.

Pause is specifically designed to support the complex needs of women, being alongside them to enable change in their lives rather than doing this for/to them.

You will work systemically in delivering a relationship based programme where frequency, tenacity and creativity are central.

About You:

This also includes being able to influence and inspire across professional disciplines using evidence and practice to improve outcomes for Pause women.

Experience of working with families/individuals who present with a range of complex needs (mental health challenges, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic violence) is essential and you will be required to demonstrate an ability to create rapport and build effective relationships;

Being able to build reflective, supportive, trauma informed relationships with women, whilst maintaining boundaries is essential and you must have experience of case management including assessments, care planning and reviews with clients with complex needs is required to reflect the progress and hard work of your cohort.
