About us


Castle was first set up 40 years ago by ex-teacher Pauline in her family home where she nurtured so many children in their important early years.

Whilst so much about Castle has changed since then, it remains a loving, family-centered setting, led by Pauline's daughter Sarah and her husband Mat, both teachers themselves.

Castle is now next to St Nicholas Primary school benefitting from a school-based setting for our Preschoolers and a purpose-build nursery building for our babies and toddlers.

This is a truly caring and special setting, cherished by the many families and colleagues connected to it

We're looking for:

  • Somebody who has plenty of energy and enthusiasm in the early mornings as well as after a long day.
  • Somebody who can put the needs of the little people above their own, offering patience, kindness and compassion.
  • Somebody who is openminded enough to get down on the floor and play with the children embracing the fun and learning in every situation whether that be in the rain, mud or wind.
  • Keen to learn by engaging in the academic part of the apprenticeship engaging with either an online on inperson college, completing assignments and meeting with a tutor.

£6.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
