Principal Mechanical Engineer Role:

To assist in Mechanical designs and perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Thermal Analysis (CFD). This position acts as the main link to customers, collaborating with manufacturers and test facilities.

To approve all mechanical designs, ensure the team follows relevant processes throughout design, development, and construction, and guarantee compliance with all necessary standards.

To create, assess, and endorse technical documentation to aid in timely project delivery, organizing all Computer Aided Design (CAD) aspects efficiently using different CAD applications.

Your Duties:

  • Mechanical design engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) across the company.
  • Examining and justifying mechanical designs and component choices.
  • Resolving mechanical challenges during hardware design, development, production, integration, and validation.
  • Ensuring all baseline and change control activities are executed within the mechanical team, following Configuration Management (CM) procedures.
  • Supplying mechanical/electro-mechanical design assistance on one or multiple projects.
  • Guiding the mechanical team to ensure adherence to processes and requirements.
  • Developing, appraising, and endorsing mechanical technical documents (drawings, materials, and Bill of Materials (BOM)).

Your Background:

  • Extensive experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering role.
  • Degree in an associated discipline (or substantial mechanical design experience without a degree).
  • Knowledge and practice of mechanical-related Defence Standards.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
