Your new company is an SME in Blackpool. They operate within a niche area and are market leaders in their field. They are looking to recruit a Head Of Finance on a permanent basis.

Your new role

Support the MD in developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the company's financial stability and compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal reporting structures.

Build and lead a strong team, provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for employees.
Provide financial analysis and support as required to the leadership team & MD regarding business decisions and strategies.
Analyse financial data and provide insights to support short-term and long-term profitability and growth.
Communicate accurate financial information and performance to the Managing Director in a regular, timely & consistent manner.
Identify and mitigate financial risks to the company and provide recommendations to the Managing Director as necessary.
Drive & support the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
Prepare and post accurate & timely monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries.
Budgeting and forecasting.
Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the Managing Director.

Managing an end-to-end audit process of current systems - while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors.

Continually identify risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout.
Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts.
Leading the team responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and financial institutions.
Ensure compliance with all legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Provide support to the heads of Operations, Sales & Projects in analysing project performance, maintenance and operation contracts.

As part of the leadership team work on supporting strategy development and assist the Managing Director on setting goals for growth.

What you'll need to succeed Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Strong technical knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices.
Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment and attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and experience in managing and developing staff.
Be able to supply information and prepare reports
Knowledge of Sage 200 is preferred but not essential.
