About the role:

We are seeking a Legal Director at Boston Scientific to join our US Corporate Legal team under the guidance of the VP & Chief Corporate Counsel. In this role, you will lead a legal team responsible for supporting the company's commercial contracting practice. Your duties include managing a team of attorneys and legal staff, as well as collaborating with BSC Sourcing to negotiate commercial agreements and address various transactional matters.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Fostering a diverse workplace that maximizes contributions towards organizational goals
  • Training and overseeing the India-based Commercial contracting center of excellence (COE) team
  • Managing outside counsel relationships and ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints
  • Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial documents
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy and technology guidelines
  • Developing standard legal positions and contract processes
  • Providing legal counsel to internal clients at all levels
  • Representing internal clients in contract negotiations
  • Collaborating with internal business clients to align agreements with corporate policies
  • Conducting training on company policies, best practices, and laws

What we're looking for:
Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor with active membership in one state bar in the US
  • 12+ years of experience in law firms or in-house legal departments
  • Strong understanding of contract law and legal concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-house legal experience supporting IT or broad-based contracting
  • Experience in team management
  • Ability to communicate legal concepts effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Strong prioritization and workload management skills
