An exciting opportunity is available for a number of experienced Detective Constables to investigate serious and organised crime across the South East region.

Current vacancies are based in Horsham, Sussex with a likely move to Crawley, Sussex later in 2023.

The successful applicant will act as OIC/case officer for some of the most challenging but rewarding investigations into serious & organised crime.

Responsibilities

• To perform the role of Case Officer/OIC on complex and serious organised crime investigations and to take on additional roles within investigations such as TLO/Disclosure and Exhibits.
• As part of the SEROCU investigative team, support covert operation and tactics and investigate SOC involving the use of intelligence, reactive and proactive policing tactics, including search and arrest operations.
• Prepare prosecution files in respect of offenders arrested by SEROCU, managing the criminal justice process through to court.
• For those qualified to provide specialist surveillance support to investigations, including being 'oncall' for regional surveillance capability.
• To build and maintain professional relationships with partners both internal and external.

Required knowledge/skills
Essential

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound background in covert investigations and practical experience undertaking covert and overt investigations.
• Able to demonstrate flexibility, motivation and commitment.

Desirable

• Tier 3 and/or Tier 5 Interview trained.
• Sound background in covert investigations and practical experience undertaking covert and overt investigations.

Additional information

• Full current UK driving licence and basic police driving permit.
• Vetting checks required.
• May require psychological screening.
