- £36,000**Working in both a classroom environment and some online remote delivery, you will be

expected to facilitate the effective and efficient learning and assessment of unemployed

learners undergoing FLT and related courses.

  • To train & teach VSS courses as agreed with your Line Manager.
  • To be responsible for improvement Quality Assurance actions of your teaching and delivery, as identified in OTLA observations and 121 discussion.

Key responsibilities:

  • Accurate input of data to bespoke RTITB database
  • Provide administrative support through the preparation of training documents, accurately processing records of training, logging learners feedback.
  • Liaising with colleagues for details to prepare examination and training documentation
  • Achieve departmental targets and ensure turnaround times are met
  • Alert colleagues and managers of potential issues upon identification of discrepancies
  • Always maintain a positive attitude, working alongside the team to carry out tasks in line with turnaround times.
  • Achieve monthly promotion targets in line with guidelines provided at the start of each month.
  • Maintain a 98% attendance record throughout the year
  • Act as a personal tutor/mentor to groups of learners in order to train, review, monitor and assess learners. Provide prompt and constructive feedback to learners as soon as possible after any assessment.
  • To plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate a course(s) of learning for learners as set out in the contract of employment to the agreed number of hours and weeks
  • To understand and interpret detailed syllabus/course outline information and an initial scheme of work for each course before commencement and update/maintain them as part of the course documentation files.
  • Work alongside curriculum to prepare appropriate plans and learning materials for each session, to make them for monitoring or lesson observation visits and to maintain them as part of the course documentation files.
  • Support the development of this area of curriculum provision. Make sure that assessment strategies used are inclusive (regardless of gender, age, origin, etc.) and are fair, reliable, current, valid maintaining consistency in assessment decisions.
  • To monitor, mark and assess learners' work and progress and maintain such records as appropriate and to prepare learners for exams and accreditation. To aim to return work within 10 working days as appropriate
  • To ensure that learners complete all the relevant administrative documentation, including Learning Programme Agreements, payment of fees, etc.
  • To monitor and evaluate courses and to provide feedback to the Centre Head and/or Curriculum department as requested, thus taking responsibility for the quality of your teaching.
  • To attend and contribute to at least two staff and/or curriculum meetings per academic year and a minimum of one staff training day per academic year.
  • To assist with enrolment and recruitment procedures as appropriate.
  • To support the Curriculum Manager in the successful operational management of the curriculum area.

Essential Requirements

  • Teaching qualification* appropriate for working in Post 16 Sector, and/or willingness to undergo development. (A minimum of a level 3 Award in Education and Training/ 7307 / PTTLS)
  • RTITB certified Instructor qualification with experience (Counterbalance and Reach)
  • Preferably hold a recognised Assessor Award or working towards (D32 & D33, A1, TAQA, CAVA)
  • Ability to work and communicate at the highest level, to think strategically and to meet KPIs
  • A very good knowledge of IT based systems. (RTITB/NORS Tablet trained)
  • Experience of coaching/mentoring people with mixed abilities
  • An understanding of the principles underpinning teaching adults, i.e., planning, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of learning.
  • Effective oral and written communication, numeracy, and interpersonal qualifications & skills to communicate effectively with staff and learners alike (to at least Level 2 and/or willingness to acquire appropriate equivalent qualification).
  • Maintaining a positive attitude that inspires coworkers and clients to grow the business
  • Adheres to the organisation's code of conduct and contributes to team cohesion and productivity representing the positive aspects of team culture and respectfully challenging inappropriate prevailing cultures
  • Full UK clean driving licence and use of own vehicle
