Summary:


The Health Safety and Environment Advisor provides expertise in the development, implementation and management of effective Safety, Health and Environment programs/systems.

Routinely analyses hazardous situations and identifies alternative courses of action.

Core Responsibilities:

  • The EHS Advisor specific areas of focus will be on development, implementation and auditing on a wide range of environmental, health and safety management systems to deliver year on year reductions in both workplace injuries and environmental incidents.
  • Working with operational teams in the business to ensure the implementation, review and internal audit of environmental and health and safety standards and training.
  • Proactive environment, health and safety management developing EHS culture, supporting the Deal with It program, positive observations, monitoring EHS performance, legal compliance & identifying areas for improvement.
  • Incident, near miss, hazard reporting and investigation in conjunction with managers to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinating, administering and verifying risk assessments and environmental impact assessments.
  • Keeping up to date with new/changes to EHS legislation, standards and good practice and make recommendations for changes. Ensure environmental register is maintained.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • 35 years' experience of working within a manufacturing environment is required.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety is essential.
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence when conversing with stakeholders.
  • Wellorganised, detailoriented, and able to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise duties with mínimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and webbrowsers.
  • Team player with outstanding decision making skills.
