Specialist Activity Instructor at YMCA Fairthorne Manor

Location: Fairthorne Manor, Curdridge

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £23,322 per annum FTE

Job Purpose:

Join us at YMCA Fairthorne Manor as a Specialist Activity Instructor and become a key member of the Programme Team. You will be responsible for training, assessing, and managing our activity leaders. Your role will involve instructing and supervising a variety of land-based activities on site.



Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality instruction for outdoor activities
  • Mentor others to develop instructional standards
  • Deliver exceptional customer care
  • Take responsibility for maintenance and safety of activities and equipment
  • Supervise activity leaders and volunteers
  • Contribute to staff training programs
  • Ensure safety at all times
  • Follow safeguarding policies


Person Specification & Key Competencies:

Key attributes include genuine enthusiasm, good communication skills, ability to supervise teams, and commitment to activity program development.

Essential qualifications/experience: Archery GB Instructor, First Aid Certificate, outdoor education experience, extensive work with children and young people.

Desirable qualifications: Axe throwing, High Ropes, Climbing Wall, Paddlesport, other NGB Instructing qualifications.
