What is the Real-Time Pricing business at Bloomberg?

Bloomberg's real-time pricing business is a frontrunner in the fixed income domain, supported by multiple pricing options on the Bloomberg Terminal and distributed directly to clients.

IBVAL Front Office (IBVL) represents the newest pricing source crafted to facilitate real-time trading and the escalating adoption of trading automation. IBVAL Front Office utilizes a machine learning model that assimilates trade and quote data sources almost instantly to generate premium pricing and consistent coverage across the liquidity spectrum. This pricing source is distinct yet complementary to Bloomberg's distinguished evaluated pricing service, BVAL.

In addition to backing IBVAL, responsibilities include overseeing pricing sources like BGN (Bloomberg Generic Pricing), CBBT (Composite Bloomberg Bond Trader), and BMRK (Benchmark), all of which provide streaming pricing throughout the day.

The Role:

Real-time Pricing Analysts are experts in pricing, responsible for applying pertinent, innovative, and leading-edge valuation models that leverage Bloomberg's in-house analytics to offer top-notch data for the front office, middle office, and operations. We are searching for a pricing specialist with a profound understanding of the Fixed Income markets, focusing on GSAC (Governments, Supranationals, Agencies, and Corporates). The team comprises capital market experts with extensive and diverse backgrounds, including former traders, portfolio managers, and research analysts.

We'll trust you to:

  • Support the real-time pricing business across product, sales, and clients
  • Collaborate closely with the AI modeling team and core engineering team to develop automation processes to ensure the delivery of the highest quality product to clients
  • Work in conjunction with other BVAL team members, Business Development, and Engineering to devise innovative tools that guarantee quality and coverage across global markets
  • Partner with Sales to present the pricing services to potential and existing clients
  • Engage in discussions on markets, AI pricing models, and pricing inquiries with colleagues and clients

You'll need to have:

5+ years of experience in trading, portfolio management, securities valuations, or research within the cash bond universe in capital markets for either a buyside or sellside firm or vendor*Demonstrated expertise in technology solutions supporting fixed income workflows across front, middle, and/or back office, as well as experience in learning and navigating intricate systems, including databases and analytical modelsProven proficiency in Python, Microsoft Excel, VBA, SQL, and data modelingDemonstrated ability to articulate complex valuation models clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders

Client-facing experience in sales, account management, or Go-To-Market rolesExperience in Agile or Kanban environmentsKnowledge of digital distribution technologies
