Job Title: Fraud Investigator - Temp to Perm Role

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £13 per hour

Goldman is looking for a meticulous and proactive Fraud Investigator to join their dynamic team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This intriguing position involves working Monday to Friday shifts, with the option of a hybrid work model available following the initial training phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing alerts generated by the detection system to spot fraudulent activities associated with transactions, compromised accounts, and account openings.
  • Conducting investigations into identified risks, making informed decisions on escalating risky accounts, placing and lifting restrictions, and securing compromised accounts.
  • Determining necessary actions based on established procedures to safeguard the Bank's assets; collaborating with supervisors on intricate cases.
  • Imposing suitable holds on accounts showing detected fraudulent activity and documenting actions promptly and accurately to fulfill audit and compliance prerequisites.
  • Establishing connections with customers, merchants, financial institutions, and other staff to address system issues or request additional information to underpin decisions regarding fraudulent activity.
  • Achieving set targets for metrics such as call and case quality, productivity, and customer retention by delivering optimal service to customers.
  • Participating in the identification and implementation of process improvements to boost the efficiency of fraud detection operations.
  • Safeguarding against losses from fraud reports, referrals from the fraud email box, and return items from various sources/platforms.
  • Keeping abreast of industry, national, and global fraud patterns and prevention tactics, suggesting tools, services, and methodologies for enhancement.
  • Completing ongoing compliance and corrective training as outlined.
  • Collaborating closely with the Financial Crime team to escalate cases when necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Fraud or Investigations within a financial institution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Solid grasp of the customer service landscape.
  • Self-motivated, detail-focused, ambitious, and capable of working autonomously in a team-based and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work late hours or early mornings as workload dictates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma or equivalent military background.
  • Experience in Fraud Operations at a major retail bank.
