Applications Support Officer - Schools' Choice, part of the Vertas Group Limited

Friars Bridge Road, Ipswich

37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

£26,000 per annum

Purpose of the role:

To manage the system administration of multiple business systems. To be involved in the support, development and maintenance of solutions managed by the systems team.

Key relationships:

  • Schools' Choice customers.
  • Internal team members.
  • Colleagues across Schools Choice.
  • Team Lead.
  • Software Suppliers/Support providers.

Key Skills:

  • Excellent Computer skills such as report writing and excel skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Research and problemsolving skills to deal with queries and issues.
  • Ability to plan and organise own workload, taking responsibility for delivery of tasks. Where appropriate support colleagues in managing workloads.
  • Desirable knowledge/experience of using iTrent & Microsoft Dynamics.

Main activities and responsibilities:

  • Upkeep and development of various systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix defects.
  • End to end testing.
  • Ability to manipulate data and generate bespoke reports.
  • Administer business processes and procedures, this includes but is not limited to onboarding of new customers.
  • Develop expertise and knowledge of systems across a range of service areas.
  • Contribute to the design and development of specific administrative systems and associated databases or spreadsheets.
  • Contribute to internal or external communications, e.g. drafting various documents which may include internal processes or user guidance.
  • Provide an efficient and customer focussed first point of contact.
  • Raising tickets promptly with suppliers as needed.
  • To be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritising own work to meet numerous deadlines.
  • To be able to interpret and follow guidance documents/technical manuals to complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Strive to resolve problems and achieve positive outcomes, influencing improvements for positive change.
