About the role
As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
you will have particular responsibility for developing, leading and teaching a range of academic modules and professional short courses in areas such as improving operations performance, risk management, supply chain strategy, lean/agile operations management, project management and use of technology in the workplace.
If successful, you would be required to:
- Demonstrate an innovative and flexible approach to curriculum design and teaching and assessment methods.
- Provide high quality, accessible learning opportunities, create exceptional student experience in line with the University's strategic objectives including TEF and ensure that employability and 'realworld' learning are at the heart of the curriculum.
You will work as part of a diverse and committed team and be expected to engage positively with the development of the curriculum as well as having module leadership and other relevant responsibilities.
You will be expected to have gained a high level of successful teaching experience within Higher Education and be able to demonstrate how your pedagogic practice engages student learning, delivers a positive student experience and addresses future expectations of students within the workplace.
Principal accountabilities:
Learning / Teaching:
- Ensure that module / programme design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the University.
- Participate effectively in the assessment process, including the setting, marking and moderation of student work, providing constructive feedback and ensuring it is in accordance with quality assurance procedures.
- Participate in the continuing review and development of module/programme delivery, incorporating innovative study modes, learning environments and pedagogic practices to engage and stimulate students, deliver effective learning outcomes and develop the skills and attributes of the 'Derby Graduate'.
- Take on relevant module leader and/or programme leader responsibilities, including associated marketing, recruitment, delivery and ongoing programme development activities.
Research / Scholarship:
- Ensure that knowledge from research and scholarly activities informs and enhances learning and teaching, as well as extending it to appropriate external activities such as knowledge transfer activities.
