Theatre Practitioner (Scrub, Anaesthetics and/or Recovery)

At Imperial we run theatres across five sites. We are looking to recruit into multiple anaesthetic, scrub, recovery and theatre practitioner roles. Join our multidisciplinary team of skilled and motivated staff who provide a high quality care to our patients. We are committed to your professional development and will provide you with a range of education, in-house training and one to one coaching co-ordinated by a dedicated practice development team. We are proud to work in theatres where we have pioneered cutting edge surgical techniques using medical technology like the Da Vinci robotic programme. We are renowned for being the UK's leading centre for bariatric surgery and cardiac surgery. Our head and neck surgery is recognised as world-class. St Mary's Hospital is one of only four major trauma centres in London and widely respected as a UK top performer. Our Trust is recognised as being one of the largest renal transplant centres in the country. You will gain experience working within: Neurosurgery, ENT, Breast surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology and renal, General, Cardiac, Gynaecology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics and Hepatobillary. Main duties of the job As a Theatre Practitioner (Nurse or ODP) your role will be in Scrub and/or Anaesthetics and/or Recovery, delivering a consistently high standard of patient care utilising evidence-based practice. You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate all aspect of patient care, prepare patients and aid with clinical/operative procedures and participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas of the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues, to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives. This post is suitable for students who are due to qualify this year who will hold a relevant qualification. Skills needed

Requirements
  • Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professionals Council registration (HCPC)
  • Registered General Nurse OR Registered Operating Departmental Practitioner
  • Commitment to undertake an appropriate course of study
  • To have knowledge and understanding of all surgical specialities within the operating department
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
