About the role

Working within the People Directorate, the SEND Support Service works with partners to ensure that early help and specialist support is provided to children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and proactively champion the inclusion of all children in education.

What will you be doing?

This role will lead and manage a direct casework service that provides early help and specialist early intervention support to children and young people with SEND and to provide expertise in working with children to families. The role will have direct responsibility for the line management of up to 6 team members so previous supervision experience is essential.

You are likely to be at Angel Square or in Education Settings for the majority of the week to offer direct support to the team.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced manager to join our established team. The SEND Support Service works to support children and young people from 0-19 at home and in education, empowering parents and setting/school staff through a variety of support methods including working with parents and educational staff in schools and settings, running targeted workshops and direct work with children and young people.

For this role we are looking for a highly experienced specialist to compliment the skills in the leadership team.
